If you’re a past CWSF-ESPC finalist, ISEF finalist or YSC Online STEM Fair participant who is currently in high school or Cégep, you may be eligible to apply to be a member of Team Canada-ISEF 2024 to represent Canada in the 2024 Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) in May.

Regeneron ISEF is the world’s largest pre-college celebration of science that brings together over 1,800 students from more than 80 nations to compete for over $4 million in awards, scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips and grand prizes, including three US$10,000 awards, three US$50,000 awards and a US$75,000 award. The 2024 Regeneron ISEF will be hosted in Los Angeles, California from May 11-17, 2024.

Youth Science Canada plans to select a team of 8 finalists this year. As you may know, past results have been spectacular. In 2023, the 8 members of Team Canada-ISEF won 7 awards, including 5 grand awards and 2 special awards. You can learn more about these awards here.

Each year, young Canadian scientists like you are proving they’re world-class and you’re invited to apply to be a member of Team Canada-ISEF 2024.

To be eligible for Team Canada-ISEF you must be:

• a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident;
• currently attending grade 9-12 or, in Québec, Secondaire 3, 4, 5, or Cégep.

The application process for Team Canada-ISEF is quite different from a regional fair or the CWSF-ESPC because it has several stages and ISEF has stricter rules. Your Team Canada-ISEF project, which may be a continuation of your CWSF project, must be approved BEFORE you begin work on it. (You may submit your existing project only if you began work on it AFTER January 1, 2023 and will complete all work on it within a year of the start date.)

As a result, it is important to apply for Team Canada-ISEF as soon as possible so your project can be reviewed and approved by the Youth Science Canada Scientific Review Committee (SRC).
